ARGENTINA & RIO

14 November - 03 December 2026

Fly from Belfast City (via Heathrow)

Argentina has long been a place we have wanted to visit, and lead a tour to. It is a huge country, more than 30 times bigger than the island of Ireland, yet with only 6 times the population. It has a fascinating history, pre-dating the arrival of Europeans in the early 16th century. It is known for its beautiful capital city, Buenos Aires and for its wild pampas grasslands, for the Andes mountains and for its amazing coastline, for its spectacular waterfalls and, of course its love of great food. Did anyone mention Eva Peron?

We plan to finish this exciting tour with three nights in Rio. Wow!

As this may be the only tour we will ever arrange to Argentina, we are going to try to see as much as possible, yet allow you some free time to relax and enjoy it. So, without further ado, here is an outline of our plans.

Health Requirements

Whilst there is currently no requirement for inoculations, it is advised that you check with your own health professional. There is a local risk of malaria, so precautions should be taken. You should always be up-to-date with jabs for tetanus, Hep A, and all the childhood ailments….but that’s up to you.

Currency

You will different currencies for Argentina and for Brazil.

The Argentine Peso is currently around ARS2,000 = £1 but it changes daily.

The Brazilian Real is currently around  RS7 = £1 but it also changes daily.

Inflation is an issue in South America, so we suggest that, where possible, you pay by credit card and only carry very small amounts of cash. In Argentina, it could lose any value overnight. US Dollars and Euro are very widely acceptable,

We are limiting this to an absolute maximum of 24 places, as that is currently all the accommodation we can secure throughout the itinerary. We urge you to book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. We will not be repeating this tour, at least not in the next three years.
